We recommend the 1-Year ERISA Package for most renewals, so you can review coverage each year. A 3-year term gives the greatest savings and keeps your bond U.S. Department of Labor compliant for the full term.

What does extended coverage mean?

Extended coverage means your ERISA bond stays U.S. Department of Labor compliant for its entire term. A stand-alone ERISA bond includes extended coverage only with a 3-year term. Our 2-Year and 3-Year ERISA Packages, which combine the bond with fiduciary and cyber liability insurance, include extended coverage for the full bond term.

Can I upgrade my stand-alone bond to a package?

Yes. Select the 1-Year ERISA Package at renewal to add fiduciary and cyber liability insurance to your bond.

Why add fiduciary liability insurance to my bond?

Your ERISA bond protects the plan, not you. It does not protect fiduciaries or their personal assets if they're held liable for a mistake managing the plan. Fiduciary liability insurance does. When you add it, you get cyber liability insurance at no extra cost to help meet U.S. Department of Labor cybersecurity best practices. Cyber liability insurance is not available in Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Mariana Islands.

Do I need a bigger bond as my plan grows?
