Newark Airport passengers and employees alike will encounter serious changes to airport security and safety. Face coverings will now be required in all public areas for any person in the premises, with some airlines requiring face masks to be worn for the duration of flights. Plexiglass barriers have been installed in key areas throughout terminals, including information kiosks, check-in counters, concessions and welcome centers. Vending machines will now stock face masks and hand sanitizer bottles, stickers will now direct passengers on how far apart they should stand from one another, and sanitizing stations will be frequent and encouraged.
