Next in line, please! The County of Morris, New Jersey, just announced they are starting the process of renewing notary public commissions. The renewal process has been on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic; however, the Morris County Clerk’s Office is now officially resuming the process for notary publics in the area.
According to the announcement, current notary publics within county lines have already claimed a 90-day grace period to renew their commissions. The county did so in order to prevent the expiration of notary licenses while obeying social distancing orders. The office is now offering spaced-out appointments, a separate service area, protective gear for workers, hand sanitizer stations, and glass dividers between visitors and staff. Any valid notary public can call the clerk’s office at 973-285-6122 to schedule their renewal appointment. Commissions closest to their expiration date will be processed first.
