On Wednesday, Governor Wolf of Pennsylvania launched a new set of guidelines set to go in effect on July 16. Per a press release from the Governor’s office, alcohol can only be served for on-premises consumption when in the same transaction as a meal.
According to the Department of Health, customers are required to “sit-down at a table in a restaurant, that is social distanced, and must order food.” Food is classified as a meal or something as small as a bag of chips–both items qualify as “food” under this new rule.
Subsequently, the novel order bans bar seating and adjusted occupancy allowance for indoor dining to 25%.
